Fenty Beauty Foundation Review

Hey Guys,

As you all know, Rihanna's launched Fenty Beauty.
I couldn't help but pick up some products from my all time fave celeb! She's launched so many products, I was in awe. I know everyone online has been reviewing her products and saying good things but I had to try this out for myself. I am a foundation girl, base is everything for me. So 100% I checked the foundation straight away. The colour that I used (and bought) is 300 this was F L A W L E S S ! Not even joking. So blendable and lightweight on your skin. Such a natural finish but it's buildable if you want fuller coverage. It's a soft matte foundation so it feels "Light as Air". I've been loving natural looks I.e. Light foundation, concealer, mascara, natural contour and lips. That's me done. This Pro Filt'r Longwear Foundation has made my everyday makeup look much more natural. The foundation costs £26. Definitely a 10/10 all rounder!

I also tried out the highlighter Trophy Wife - that was something else! I was SHINING! But it's not something that I can wear everyday. For parties, weddings etc it would definitely compliment the Asian dresses I wear. But it won't be part of my everyday natural look that I usually go for. As you can see in the picture above, the highlight is poppin', I deffo will recommend this highlight to the girls who are looking for a highlight with great pigmentation. This highlight has much more of a yellow tone rather than the champagne gold that I usually go for. The highlighter costs £26.

Comment below if you've tried it and what you think. More pictures will be on my Instagram

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! More to come

Pick Me Up Products

Hello Guys,

I needed some retail therapy recently and it always helps when makeup is involved. I just picked up some products that I was running out of and thought I would recommend some of the stuff to you guys.

Firstly, lets start with basics. You guys know how i'm obsessed with L'Oreal products. I got the L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist which is basically a setting spray which sets makeup! This product is definitely 10/10 for me, I've gone through two bottles now! I use it after I apply my concealer and then once more before highlight. No wonder why i'm rinsing the bottle.

I also got the L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base which is a primer. I prep n' prime my face before putting any makeup and after moisturizing my face (skin routine post coming soon). I have heard so many reviews on the primer and i'll give this a high 7/10 for this. I'm still getting used to changing my primer from BarryM to L'Oreal.

In Boots, L'Oreal had 3 for 2 on all their products. So I thought I should give one of their new mascaras a go. I got the L'Oreal miss Hippie Mascara and it has such a thick brush. I think i'll give this product a 6/10 because it is £6.99 on its own and my lashes look lengthy but not too voluminous. I don't mind having products like this because when you're rushing for work, you just need to put anything on quickly. Good makeup tip when you're in a rush - mascara, concealer and some good nude lip gloss; easy combo.

And of course there's NYX in Boots now. So, as it's Summer, I needed some more colour! The NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner! I literally just picked up the brightest colours I could. I can't wait to show you guys the looks I have created using this. 9/10 the pigment and colour is so vibrant. 1 point deducted because it is a bit watery.

My next purchase was the NYX Eyebrow Gel - OMG seriously guys please invest your £5.50 on this product. This literally has changed my eyebrow game, so pigmented! 10/10

Finally, best till last. I casj went to the perfume aisle. Got myself YSL Mon Paris perfume. It smells so fresh, very fruity and sweet. I'm really not into sweet perfumes but I love this smell, the fruity smell overcomes the sweet.

Thanks for reading guys. You'll see the pictures soon with these products on my Instagram.

Crown Eyeshadow Challenge with an Asian Twist

Hello All,

I know i'm quite late in regards to this challenge but I thought I'll just let you guys know if you're feeling creative randomly like me then you can try this out. I have spontaneous outbursts when it comes to makeup and I love just going 'hands-on' and try and create something on the spot. What better way to be creative then do the Crown Eyeshadow Challenge

Obviously it's quite random but that's what I am! I'm gonna give you guys the tips and tricks I used to create this look (disclaimer: I did not watch any YouTube tutorials on this challenge but saw a picture on Instagram of the look)

Firstly, I primed my eyelids with my BarryM primer and then I used Jane Iredale Colour Corrective Palette in 'Beige'

Then I wanted to set the concealer with some loose powder so I used my YSL Souffle D'Eclat in '4'. This helped with the base before I started caking myself in eyeshadow.

Firstly, you have to create an eyeshadow base (this is kinda like the background effect to the crown). I used the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette in shade 'ND080' which was the burgundy brown colour (middle row, one down from the top)

Then, I had to shape the crown out, using hand - eye coordination. It's not as easy as it looks, because your eyelids are not flat e.g. like you can draw on your cheeks quite easily. It's not the same for your eyelids. I was struggling quite a bit whilst my sister was too busy laughing at me thinking i'm some sort of weirdo. Anyways, draw out the crown. I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner in '005 Nude'. Then after drawing the crown out, I had to colour the crown in again using the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette in shade 'ND070' which was the glittery orange colour, can't explain how well pigmented this palette is (first row, one down from top).

After this, I used the Elf Expert Liquid Liner in 'Copper'. This was just to enhance and outline the crown.

Now for the ASIAN TWIST - I couldn't find any stick on diamante anywhere. So in an Asian household what do you do? Dive straight into your Asian cupboard where you have that old vintage jewellery hidden catching dust - and that's where your BINDIYAASSSS are! So that's how I managed to get the little diamonds on my crown! Literally shredding my bindis apart to create this look. LISTEN, if you wanna be creative, all the components to your creativity is lying around in your room. You don't need to always buy something and 'get the look'. Rummage in your house!

Anyways thats my Crown Eyeshadow Challenge done! I got some more pictures on my  INSTAGRAM so follow me there to find out more.

March Makeup Faves

March Makeup Faves - how exciting! As it's my birthday month, I have treated myself to so many goodies especially makeup 😍 I have tried every product and OMG ahh-mayyy-zing!!!

Firstly, lets start off with foundation - The Nars All Day Luminous Foundation. I got this from Fenwick, Brent Cross. I have heard so many opinions on this foundation and I was apprehensive to try it. However, I was completely wrong. The foundation is a watery consistency but so easily blend-able and such high coverage.
:
Colour: Punjab
£35
I also got the Laura Mercier Setting Powder from Fenwick too. I know everyone goes on about it in makeup reviews and Instagram and I thought it's just a hype - let's just buy it and see what happens. I'm not kidding, the powder literally changes your makeup life! Trust me! Absolutely kills all the baking products out there and your face looks incredible.
Colour: Translucent
£30
I went into Boots and there were so many bargains. Especially, the L'Oreal section. I am obsessed with L'Oreal! I got the new matte brown lipsticks that are out. They are not like the typical matte lipsticks which dry out your lips. If you want a rich, pigmented and hydrating matte lipstick then this is definitely the one!
Colour: 634 & 636
£7
each
I have been looking for some affordable twist up lip liners for ages, I don't like sharpening pencils. Collection 2000 had some going for so cheap. You guys seriously need to go Boots and check out some of the stuff they have on offer. Sometimes bargains! The lip liner is easily glidable (I don't think that's a word), and has long lasting formula. I had a whole day of shopping, food and chilling with the girls.. And not even any smudges. Stayed on all day/night.
Colour: Cappuccino & Damson
£3
 each
Then for Concealer - my go to is L'Oreal True Match Concealer. The concealer is so blendable and it matches perfectly to your skin colour. It helps hide imperfections, blemishes and evens skin tone. Obviously, there are other concealers out there which are more expensive and can give a better effect on your face. But you can get cheaper alternatives especially if you want to try it out and see what matches and suits your skin. I got the L'Oreal beauty blender too.
Colour: 5
£7
Beauty Blender: £6
I also got the L'Oreal True Match Highlighter, the packaging drew me to it! And I haven't really tried anything like that except for the MAC Strobing Cream which is kinda similar. You can use it before foundation or after in areas that you want to highlight e.g. cheekbones, under eyebrows, nose etc. But you can also mix the product with your foundation and no you're not going to look like you've drenched yourself in highlight! It gives a nice shine but isn't all that pigmented.
Colour: Golden Glow
£7
And finally I received the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eye Shadow Palette as a birthday present from my cousin which I had to add! I actually love her so much because I was so obsessed with this palette. It has that amazing orange and burgundy colour that everyone's looking for. Literally so pigmented. And there's such a nice array of colours, you can easily create a natural or night-out look.
The colours in the palette are:
  • ND010 - Metallic pale mocha.
  • ND020 - Powdery chocolate shimmer.
  • ND030 - Matte black.
  • ND040 - Golden copper with chocolate undertones.
  • ND050 - Chocolate truffle.
  • ND060 - Deep chocolate with a golden shimmer.
  • ND070 - Pale chocolate with muted rose pink undertones.
  • ND080 - Pale mocha shimmer.
  • ND090 - Rusty copper shimmer.
  • ND100 - Pale creamy nude shimmer.
  • ND110 - Peach tinted cream with beige undertones and a shimmer finish.
  • ND120 - Pale golden chocolate shimmer.
  • ND130 - Pale pink nude.
  • ND140 - Pale cream shimmer.
  • ND150 - Pale brown coffee.
I used the Golden Copper and Chocolate Truffle in my recent pictures - have a look on  INSTAGRAM

Estee Lauder & Bobbi Brown Foundation Review

Hey Guys,

I bought the Estee Lauder Double Wear 3in1 Foundation and the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick recently and I thought I'll review it for you guys.

Firstly, I'll start off with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation...

About

The packaging suggests it’s for ‘all skin types’, lightweight makeup lasting up to 15 hours even in high humidity and it won’t smudge and come off on clothes.

Foundation Summary
-    Remarkably lasting
-    Lightweight
-    Comfortably sits for up to 15 hours
-    Won't smudge or come off on clothes
-    Oil-free
-    Fragrance-free
-    Non-acne genic
-    SPF 10

First Impression

I’ve heard so many different opinions about this foundation from both good and bad so I was quite apprehensive before purchasing this product. But once I saw it on the shelf, I could not help but buy it since it seemed like such a bargain. There was not many options in regards to the colours available as I purchased both foundations on Boxing Day at Bicester Village. The cosmetic shop was horrendously busy so it was a ‘grab and go’ kinda thing. The colour that I got was in ‘Ivory Beige’.

I kinda wish they had more variety in the shop because the foundation I picked up was a little light for me. It does suit the current winter weather since I’m a shade lighter compared to my skin tone in summer so I’m happy about that. However, the ‘lightweight’ issue we need to address likeeee right now. I did not feel it was lightweight at all, don’t get me wrong I love love love the foundation consistency and the way it looked effortless on my skin. BUT it was a little cakey for me. I would definitely wear this foundation for night outs and parties etc. The foundation literally blurred out all my spots and problem areas. I would describe this foundation as complete full coverage. So if you guys wanna wear this foundation, I recommend for you guys to mix it with another foundation or strobing cream. This would hopefully make it easier to apply on your face without the ‘cake’ feeling.

Of course, try and use primer before you put on this foundation because you definitely need it. The foundation is not creamy, more watery but once applied onto your face, it won't smudge a bit so use a (damp) beauty blender to get the product on. The product comes in a glass bottle and has no pump so you will need to turn it upside down to get the product out which is a bit of a pain.

Final Thoughts...?

I will 100% recommend the product if someone wanted a lasting foundation for a party or night out and needed the ultimate foundation. But I wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants to use it everyday. The price that I purchased it for was £21.75 which is a bargain compared to RRP! The product is not lightweight and I couldn't see as many shades for different types of skin tones so make sure you have a look around ladies before you purchase.

Right... Let's move on to the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick

About

On the packing, it's described as seamlessly blending foundation for naturally looking skin which helps spot coverage.

Foundation Summary
-    Blend seamlessly with all skin tones
-    Naturally looking finish
-    Ideal for spot coverage or all over coverage
-    In a wide range of shades from fair to dark

First Impression

I’ve seen a lot of YouTube makeup tutorials with this foundation stick. I told myself when I see it, I am going to purchase it just to see what the fuss is about. Most of the reviews were very positive so I felt like this foundation would do the trick. First and foremost, due to the huge queues at Bicester Village and basically no products on the shelf... I could only pick up what was there and unfortunately, I picked the wrong shade! Super depressing because it's one or two shades light! The shade is Cool Ivory 1.25! Annoyed is an understatement. However, the texture of the foundation isn't something that I like. It was super creamy. I'm more of a liquid watery texture sorta girl for foundations. But, this was the perfect texture and consistency when it comes to under-eye concealer. So it is serving its purpose I guess, I do like the creaminess under the eyes and the bridge of my nose. Especially on the cheek bones because it gives more base for my highlight.

I'm quite glad I ended up purchasing a couple of shades lighter than my skin tone because I would not have been able to wear this as normal foundation. I don't like having that thick layer of cake look. The product has got medium to build-able high coverage which I believe is quickly attainable as long as you've got a damp beauty blender.  The product itself is easy to use, just roll it up and directly apply it to your face. Not fussy at all to use.

Final Thoughts...?

Overall, I was not overly excited about this product. I would recommend for anyone who wants a creamy concealer to go for this but not for foundation. If you're into creamy foundation then this is the one for you but if you're a lightweight coverage sorta girl then it's a NO. I spent £20.75 on this Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick which is lower than the RRP. I really wanted to love this product, but it fell through for me. If you guys liked this product, then let me know why. I need some suggestions and tips and tricks for this product to work for me.
