Fenty Beauty Foundation Review

Hey Guys,

As you all know, Rihanna's launched Fenty Beauty.
I couldn't help but pick up some products from my all time fave celeb! She's launched so many products, I was in awe. I know everyone online has been reviewing her products and saying good things but I had to try this out for myself. I am a foundation girl, base is everything for me. So 100% I checked the foundation straight away. The colour that I used (and bought) is 300 this was F L A W L E S S ! Not even joking. So blendable and lightweight on your skin. Such a natural finish but it's buildable if you want fuller coverage. It's a soft matte foundation so it feels "Light as Air". I've been loving natural looks I.e. Light foundation, concealer, mascara, natural contour and lips. That's me done. This Pro Filt'r Longwear Foundation has made my everyday makeup look much more natural. The foundation costs £26. Definitely a 10/10 all rounder!

I also tried out the highlighter Trophy Wife - that was something else! I was SHINING! But it's not something that I can wear everyday. For parties, weddings etc it would definitely compliment the Asian dresses I wear. But it won't be part of my everyday natural look that I usually go for. As you can see in the picture above, the highlight is poppin', I deffo will recommend this highlight to the girls who are looking for a highlight with great pigmentation. This highlight has much more of a yellow tone rather than the champagne gold that I usually go for. The highlighter costs £26.

Comment below if you've tried it and what you think. More pictures will be on my Instagram

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! More to come

Pick Me Up Products

Hello Guys,

I needed some retail therapy recently and it always helps when makeup is involved. I just picked up some products that I was running out of and thought I would recommend some of the stuff to you guys.

Firstly, lets start with basics. You guys know how i'm obsessed with L'Oreal products. I got the L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist which is basically a setting spray which sets makeup! This product is definitely 10/10 for me, I've gone through two bottles now! I use it after I apply my concealer and then once more before highlight. No wonder why i'm rinsing the bottle.

I also got the L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base which is a primer. I prep n' prime my face before putting any makeup and after moisturizing my face (skin routine post coming soon). I have heard so many reviews on the primer and i'll give this a high 7/10 for this. I'm still getting used to changing my primer from BarryM to L'Oreal.

In Boots, L'Oreal had 3 for 2 on all their products. So I thought I should give one of their new mascaras a go. I got the L'Oreal miss Hippie Mascara and it has such a thick brush. I think i'll give this product a 6/10 because it is £6.99 on its own and my lashes look lengthy but not too voluminous. I don't mind having products like this because when you're rushing for work, you just need to put anything on quickly. Good makeup tip when you're in a rush - mascara, concealer and some good nude lip gloss; easy combo.

And of course there's NYX in Boots now. So, as it's Summer, I needed some more colour! The NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner! I literally just picked up the brightest colours I could. I can't wait to show you guys the looks I have created using this. 9/10 the pigment and colour is so vibrant. 1 point deducted because it is a bit watery.

My next purchase was the NYX Eyebrow Gel - OMG seriously guys please invest your £5.50 on this product. This literally has changed my eyebrow game, so pigmented! 10/10

Finally, best till last. I casj went to the perfume aisle. Got myself YSL Mon Paris perfume. It smells so fresh, very fruity and sweet. I'm really not into sweet perfumes but I love this smell, the fruity smell overcomes the sweet.

Thanks for reading guys. You'll see the pictures soon with these products on my Instagram.

Crown Eyeshadow Challenge with an Asian Twist

Hello All,

I know i'm quite late in regards to this challenge but I thought I'll just let you guys know if you're feeling creative randomly like me then you can try this out. I have spontaneous outbursts when it comes to makeup and I love just going 'hands-on' and try and create something on the spot. What better way to be creative then do the Crown Eyeshadow Challenge

Obviously it's quite random but that's what I am! I'm gonna give you guys the tips and tricks I used to create this look (disclaimer: I did not watch any YouTube tutorials on this challenge but saw a picture on Instagram of the look)

Firstly, I primed my eyelids with my BarryM primer and then I used Jane Iredale Colour Corrective Palette in 'Beige'

Then I wanted to set the concealer with some loose powder so I used my YSL Souffle D'Eclat in '4'. This helped with the base before I started caking myself in eyeshadow.

Firstly, you have to create an eyeshadow base (this is kinda like the background effect to the crown). I used the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette in shade 'ND080' which was the burgundy brown colour (middle row, one down from the top)

Then, I had to shape the crown out, using hand - eye coordination. It's not as easy as it looks, because your eyelids are not flat e.g. like you can draw on your cheeks quite easily. It's not the same for your eyelids. I was struggling quite a bit whilst my sister was too busy laughing at me thinking i'm some sort of weirdo. Anyways, draw out the crown. I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner in '005 Nude'. Then after drawing the crown out, I had to colour the crown in again using the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette in shade 'ND070' which was the glittery orange colour, can't explain how well pigmented this palette is (first row, one down from top).

After this, I used the Elf Expert Liquid Liner in 'Copper'. This was just to enhance and outline the crown.

Now for the ASIAN TWIST - I couldn't find any stick on diamante anywhere. So in an Asian household what do you do? Dive straight into your Asian cupboard where you have that old vintage jewellery hidden catching dust - and that's where your BINDIYAASSSS are! So that's how I managed to get the little diamonds on my crown! Literally shredding my bindis apart to create this look. LISTEN, if you wanna be creative, all the components to your creativity is lying around in your room. You don't need to always buy something and 'get the look'. Rummage in your house!

Anyways thats my Crown Eyeshadow Challenge done! I got some more pictures on my  INSTAGRAM so follow me there to find out more.

March Makeup Faves

March Makeup Faves - how exciting! As it's my birthday month, I have treated myself to so many goodies especially makeup 😍 I have tried every product and OMG ahh-mayyy-zing!!!

Firstly, lets start off with foundation - The Nars All Day Luminous Foundation. I got this from Fenwick, Brent Cross. I have heard so many opinions on this foundation and I was apprehensive to try it. However, I was completely wrong. The foundation is a watery consistency but so easily blend-able and such high coverage.
:
Colour: Punjab
£35
I also got the Laura Mercier Setting Powder from Fenwick too. I know everyone goes on about it in makeup reviews and Instagram and I thought it's just a hype - let's just buy it and see what happens. I'm not kidding, the powder literally changes your makeup life! Trust me! Absolutely kills all the baking products out there and your face looks incredible.
Colour: Translucent
£30
I went into Boots and there were so many bargains. Especially, the L'Oreal section. I am obsessed with L'Oreal! I got the new matte brown lipsticks that are out. They are not like the typical matte lipsticks which dry out your lips. If you want a rich, pigmented and hydrating matte lipstick then this is definitely the one!
Colour: 634 & 636
£7
each
I have been looking for some affordable twist up lip liners for ages, I don't like sharpening pencils. Collection 2000 had some going for so cheap. You guys seriously need to go Boots and check out some of the stuff they have on offer. Sometimes bargains! The lip liner is easily glidable (I don't think that's a word), and has long lasting formula. I had a whole day of shopping, food and chilling with the girls.. And not even any smudges. Stayed on all day/night.
Colour: Cappuccino & Damson
£3
 each
Then for Concealer - my go to is L'Oreal True Match Concealer. The concealer is so blendable and it matches perfectly to your skin colour. It helps hide imperfections, blemishes and evens skin tone. Obviously, there are other concealers out there which are more expensive and can give a better effect on your face. But you can get cheaper alternatives especially if you want to try it out and see what matches and suits your skin. I got the L'Oreal beauty blender too.
Colour: 5
£7
Beauty Blender: £6
I also got the L'Oreal True Match Highlighter, the packaging drew me to it! And I haven't really tried anything like that except for the MAC Strobing Cream which is kinda similar. You can use it before foundation or after in areas that you want to highlight e.g. cheekbones, under eyebrows, nose etc. But you can also mix the product with your foundation and no you're not going to look like you've drenched yourself in highlight! It gives a nice shine but isn't all that pigmented.
Colour: Golden Glow
£7
And finally I received the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eye Shadow Palette as a birthday present from my cousin which I had to add! I actually love her so much because I was so obsessed with this palette. It has that amazing orange and burgundy colour that everyone's looking for. Literally so pigmented. And there's such a nice array of colours, you can easily create a natural or night-out look.
The colours in the palette are:
  • ND010 - Metallic pale mocha.
  • ND020 - Powdery chocolate shimmer.
  • ND030 - Matte black.
  • ND040 - Golden copper with chocolate undertones.
  • ND050 - Chocolate truffle.
  • ND060 - Deep chocolate with a golden shimmer.
  • ND070 - Pale chocolate with muted rose pink undertones.
  • ND080 - Pale mocha shimmer.
  • ND090 - Rusty copper shimmer.
  • ND100 - Pale creamy nude shimmer.
  • ND110 - Peach tinted cream with beige undertones and a shimmer finish.
  • ND120 - Pale golden chocolate shimmer.
  • ND130 - Pale pink nude.
  • ND140 - Pale cream shimmer.
  • ND150 - Pale brown coffee.
I used the Golden Copper and Chocolate Truffle in my recent pictures - have a look on  INSTAGRAM

Benefit Kissy Missy Gift Set Review

Hi Guys,

Hope you’re well. I have returned again with another post. This time on makeup J I received a super sweet gift set from one of my really close friends and I wanted to share it with you guys. It’s the Benefit Kissy Missy Gift Set – so cute! I love Benefit so much, I always fall in love with their products, especially their mascaras and their packaging! Inside this gift set, there were two lip and cheek tints and two lipsticks. The products are all mini-sized which adds to the cuteness. The packaging

of the Kissy Missy Gift Set is tinned and shaped as a girl's head. The tin opens from the bottom (check the pictures our below).

The two Lip and Cheek Tints inside the set are called Benetint and Lollitint. These tints as described can be used for both cheeks and lips but I used on the lips. Personally, I’ve never used tints, I’ve always used lip gloss and lipsticks so I didn’t know what to expect. But I am quite surprised with these tints, I can’t believe how long-lasting they are and how well the colour remains on my lips. The tints have got a much more natural look compared to the lipsticks. I believe the colour can be built up, but in the pictures below, I have only used one coat.

Benetint
The Benetint is more of a darker shade compared to the other tint. The tints are both watery and has a nice flowery scent. I loved how natural the tint was, definitely a great look for when you’re in a rush and have no time to put anything on your face. I think I would definitely use this on my lips and may use it on my cheeks when I’m rushing for work in the morning and I can’t be bothered to put my makeup on.

Wearing one coat of Benetint
Lollitint
The Lollitint is a light pink shade and is a little thicker consistency than Benetint, but it is still watery. I like this colour the best out the tints, it’s just really girly and just reminds me of summer! I can still see myself using this colour on my no makeup kinda days.
Wearing one coat of Lollitint
OMG! LIPSTICKS!
These lipsticks are something else (check pictures below) they have a liner included within the lipstick!! So basically a 2 in 1 product and I absolutely love those. The lipstick is in a teardrop design for easy application and it makes your lips look so fuller. The colour is crazily pigmented and it’s so long-lasting. I am in LOVE!

Revved-Up Red Lipsticks
This lipstick has a coral shade with a silky cream finish, this lipstick was the lighter shade compared to Pink Thrills. This lipstick was full of colour once applied and I only used one coat. I am so happy with all of the Benefit products within this gift set. Both lipsticks made my lips look so much fuller. However, these lipsticks are not matte so you may need to re-apply.
One coat of Revved-Up Red
Pink Thrills
This lipstick suited my skin tone more than Revved-Up Red Lipstick only because this lipstick had a much darker lip liner. I love this look and I only used one coat again. Very happy with the products. I think I will be wearing Pink Thrills the most out of all four products.
One coat of Pink Thrills
I really enjoyed using all of these products! And Thank You Ema for giving me this beautiful gift set!

If you guys have tried any of these products, then let me know J
See you all soon

Affordable Makeup Look & Swatches!!

Hello Girls J

Everyone I’ve asked so far wants an ‘affordable’ makeup look from top to toe (well just for your face but you get the gist). I was quite happy at reviewing some of the products that I use every day because they’re genuinely quite good. There are so many looks that you can create by using these affordable brands.

Yes, I can admit that I do have expensive makeup and some products do work better than the more affordable brands. But the ones I have reviewed below, I use on an everyday basis. I have hand-picked the best ones that I know are extremely affordable and will give a lasting impression. The products will be linked below for you all. And you'll get to see swatches of some products too!

FACE

PRIMER

-       For dull skin
-       Pore minimising
-       Smoothing
-       Mattifying
-       Oil-free smoothing serum
-       Use on clean skin BEFORE foundation

This primer is so good when applied and it makes my skin ready for foundation. I can’t justify the brightening part but it does give the lightweight feeling. I always use this primer before expensive or affordable foundation because it does the trick. I would definitely recommend this – it lasts around 3-4 months for me as I don’t really wear makeup every day. The product does have a pump so it’s very easy to use.

FOUNDATION

-       For normal to oily skin
-       Matte and poreless
-       Natural seamless finish
-       Matches skin tone and texture

I am in love with this foundation! I don’t like it when people always underestimate drug store products because some of them do shine! I understand that some people have luxury favourites (I do too) but this Maybelline Fit Me foundation is perfect! It gives full coverage and a great finish too! My skin type is normal but can be oily but this foundation settles in so well. I have got the colour 220 – even though it does describe the product as matte, it does not fully mattify the skin so you won’t get the ‘cake’ look. Definitely recommend to use a damp beauty blender when applying onto your face. The product does not have a pump so you just have to squeeze it out.

CONCEALER

-       HD concealer
-       Smooth finish

This has to be the most raved drug store concealer ever! But I completely understand why, it is my favourite!! I use to use the Maybelline Anti-Age Concealer but I just don’t enjoy using that anymore because it dries to quickly when applied. But this L.A. Concealer is perfect and ranges in so many colours and shades. It even has colour correctors in the same bottle (I’ve got the green one!) the product has a brush on the tip for easy application. There is literally no mess, all you do is squeeze the product and directly apply to your face. I recommend blending the product in with a damp beauty blender. The texture is really creamy and easy to blend – I bought two of these in a light and dark shade (contour purposes). The colours I have brought are Medium Beige and Chestnut.

CONTOURING PALLETTE

-       Matte
-       Easy to blend contour powder
-       Illuminating highlighter

This is a bargain! 3 in 1 for what… £10!! I actually bought it for much cheaper because I’m obsessed over Boots Advantage Card Coupons. I think it was like 20% or something. But the colours are so pigmented and vibrant. It actually doesn’t fade like the other contouring palettes I’ve used. The dark shade is perfect for contouring your nose and cheekbones especially after you’ve used the L.A. Girl Concealer (in the darker shade) to set your contour. That’s what I do, just to emphasise my contour just that extra mile. The blusher is literally poppin’, it has so much glow! I’ve always used matte blushers so this glowy one is perfect. It actually suits my skin tone and I love how it accentuates my face structure. So… the highlighter is amazing! It's so pigmented and instantly appears onto the skin! The colour of the palette I purchased is in Light 373.

EYES

EYESHADOW

-      Flawless matte eyeshadow
-      Highly pigmented
-      Easy to blend

This eyeshadow palette has 32 colours and all colours are vibrant for all skin tones! It’s a bargain and the meaning of affordable. Literally you can use all of these colours for daytime, night out, work, school, college looks! The palette colour I purchased is in Flawless Matte. The colours that I recommend to use for an every day look is Warm, Rust and Wood. These peachy colours go with the current trend at the moment. I like using a dark colour for the eyelid just to make the eyes pop whilst having the pinks on the crease.

EYELINER

-       Easy application
-       Lasting finish

I’ve used this eyeliner since the age of 13! This is an all-time favourite and classic. If every 90s girl isn’t with me on this one then I don’t know what you guys have been using… No, but really cheap, affordable and super classic = perfection.

MASCARA

-       New brush with anti-clump wiper
-       Instant dramatic eyes

This may look slightly expensive for mascara but trust me this is an investment. Just really puts your whole look together. I honestly always recommend this mascara to everyone I know. You only need one or two coats for a normal work look but if you really want those lengthy lashes then double up them coats because you will really get intensified dramatic lashes.

BROW POMADE

-      Smooth, blend-able product
-      Smudge-proof

I got this as a present – and this is best present I’ve received. I never really used pomades but I’ve seen reviews where people are comparing it to Anastasia Beverly Hills’ pomades so that just says it all. I love all of NYX’s products so much, so affordable for girls who want to get with the latest trends on a budget! The colour pomade I have is in Black 05.

BROW GEL

-      Makes brows look fuller
-      Intensifies brows

This product just cleans your eyebrow look after you've applied pomade and acts like a 2 in 1 gel and tint. I love it! The product is bigger than all other brow gels – gives more bang for your buck, literally. The colour that I purchased this in is Medium/Dark.

LIPS

LIP LINER

-      Precision colour
-      Glides smoothly
-      Non-smudge

Now, some people don’t like using lip liner and I was this person but not anymore. I have to use lip liner now or else I feel as if my lips don’t look as fuller. This lip liner is so cheap; I should have got some more in a couple more colours – oh well get that done in my next makeup shopping trip. The colour that I have used is called Paprika. Also, Kiko have a lot of lip liners in various colours under £3.

LIPSTICK

KIKO Lipstick - £1.90
-      Silky texture
-      Smooth-gliding quality
-      Easy to apply

I couldn’t help myself but buy all these lipsticks when I saw them on sale for less than £2, they’re usually around £5! I still think you can buy these lipsticks at this price (just click the link above), definitely recommend using this product when you’re trying to build your makeup collection. Also, you can use this product in all types of weather. It’s not matte but gives a slight shine. The colour that I purchased is in Rosewood.

That's all for now guys, thank you for reading. If you want to see a picture of all these products on me then click on my >> Instagram <<
