Estee Lauder & Bobbi Brown Foundation Review

Hey Guys,

I bought the Estee Lauder Double Wear 3in1 Foundation and the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick recently and I thought I'll review it for you guys.

Firstly, I'll start off with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation...

First Impression

I’ve heard so many different opinions about this foundation from both good and bad so I was quite apprehensive before purchasing this product. But once I saw it on the shelf, I could not help but buy it since it seemed like such a bargain. There was not many options in regards to the colours available as I purchased both foundations on Boxing Day at Bicester Village. The cosmetic shop was horrendously busy so it was a ‘grab and go’ kinda thing. The colour that I got was in ‘Ivory Beige’.

I kinda wish they had more variety in the shop because the foundation I picked up was a little light for me. It does suit the current winter weather since I’m a shade lighter compared to my skin tone in summer so I’m happy about that. However, the ‘lightweight’ issue we need to address likeeee right now. I did not feel it was lightweight at all, don’t get me wrong I love love love the foundation consistency and the way it looked effortless on my skin. BUT it was a little cakey for me. I would definitely wear this foundation for night outs and parties etc. The foundation literally blurred out all my spots and problem areas. I would describe this foundation as complete full coverage. So if you guys wanna wear this foundation, I recommend for you guys to mix it with another foundation or strobing cream. This would hopefully make it easier to apply on your face without the ‘cake’ feeling.

Of course, try and use primer before you put on this foundation because you definitely need it. The foundation is not creamy, more watery but once applied onto your face, it won't smudge a bit so use a (damp) beauty blender to get the product on. The product comes in a glass bottle and has no pump so you will need to turn it upside down to get the product out which is a bit of a pain.

Final Thoughts...?

I will 100% recommend the product if someone wanted a lasting foundation for a party or night out and needed the ultimate foundation. But I wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants to use it everyday. The price that I purchased it for was £21.75 which is a bargain compared to RRP! The product is not lightweight and I couldn't see as many shades for different types of skin tones so make sure you have a look around ladies before you purchase.

Right... Let's move on to the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick

About

On the packing, it's described as seamlessly blending foundation for naturally looking skin which helps spot coverage.

Foundation Summary
-    Blend seamlessly with all skin tones
-    Naturally looking finish
-    Ideal for spot coverage or all over coverage
-    In a wide range of shades from fair to dark

First Impression

I’ve seen a lot of YouTube makeup tutorials with this foundation stick. I told myself when I see it, I am going to purchase it just to see what the fuss is about. Most of the reviews were very positive so I felt like this foundation would do the trick. First and foremost, due to the huge queues at Bicester Village and basically no products on the shelf... I could only pick up what was there and unfortunately, I picked the wrong shade! Super depressing because it's one or two shades light! The shade is Cool Ivory 1.25! Annoyed is an understatement. However, the texture of the foundation isn't something that I like. It was super creamy. I'm more of a liquid watery texture sorta girl for foundations. But, this was the perfect texture and consistency when it comes to under-eye concealer. So it is serving its purpose I guess, I do like the creaminess under the eyes and the bridge of my nose. Especially on the cheek bones because it gives more base for my highlight.

I'm quite glad I ended up purchasing a couple of shades lighter than my skin tone because I would not have been able to wear this as normal foundation. I don't like having that thick layer of cake look. The product has got medium to build-able high coverage which I believe is quickly attainable as long as you've got a damp beauty blender.  The product itself is easy to use, just roll it up and directly apply it to your face. Not fussy at all to use.

Final Thoughts...?

Overall, I was not overly excited about this product. I would recommend for anyone who wants a creamy concealer to go for this but not for foundation. If you're into creamy foundation then this is the one for you but if you're a lightweight coverage sorta girl then it's a NO. I spent £20.75 on this Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick which is lower than the RRP. I really wanted to love this product, but it fell through for me. If you guys liked this product, then let me know why. I need some suggestions and tips and tricks for this product to work for me.
